About Adina...
A photographer, painter, printmaker, and educator, my work spans the worlds of paper and canvas, darkroom, and computer. I infuse the passion of my personal practice into my teaching. My work is sourced out of experience. My intention is an intimacy that draws my viewer close to my subject. My work dances somewhere between a playful encounter with the world and the emotional triggers of heartbreak.
For me, art is a fusion of the many ways to see. Whether in a photograph or a painting I most want to weave tangible light, form, and color, into an intangible experience. Most of all I love seeing in a sense of the formal structure of design and the chaos of life show up as expression.
My teaching is a reflection of lived experience as well. I focus on drawing out a sense of discovery, challenge, and pleasure as part of the expression in the act of art-making. Whether drawing, painting, or photography I want my students to find ease in uncertainty and delight in exploration.
I received my MFA in Photography from Rhode Island School of Design and a Masters in Art Education from the Massachusetts College of Art. I teach inside the firm belief the visual creative expression is every person’s birthright and my commitment and personalized approach are intended to awaken that self=expressed inner voice in every student.
